Is it True: Google’s Bard AI conservation's are showing up in Google search

Google Search is indexing the conversation with its AI chatbot. It’s not clear if it’s an intentional change or a bug. Being cautious about the conversation is important, as private chats might appear in search results.

People report on X, earlier known as Twitter, that links to the conversations are appearing in the search results, which raises concerns about their privacy and security.

For example, if you have a conversation with the Bard AI chatbot and later share this conversation with a friend, family member, or someone else, this link tends to appear in the search results.

You can check the conversation of the other with the AI chatbot by typing 'site:bard.google.com/share' in the Google search bar. This has caused uneasiness for the bard users, not knowing if their conversations might appear in the search results. It would be better if the Bard user was prevented from discussing sensitive topics that you wouldn’t prefer going public.

It is unclear whether Bard conversations are appearing due to the recent Google update. But it is important to be vigilant about what is shared with the chatbot.

Looking Forward

Google Bard is used in multiple applications, customer service, and personal assistance to improve the process and streamline their work. While the goal of it is to provide helpful information for the users, the disclosure to the public through search results is a deep concern among the users. Therefore, it is advised to be cautious about the conversation topics with the AI.

Update from Google

Bard allows people to share chats, if they choose. We also don’t intend for these shared chats to be indexed by Google Search. We’re working on blocking them from being indexed now.”

This shows that this indexing is unintentional. Refraining from using the share option will mitigate this concern, as whoever has the link can view the chat and it can be reshared, causing Google to index these conversations in the search results. Not only that, the conversation topics also need to be considered; avoiding chats regarding sensitive topics will be a better option.
